Jeff Rich, Esq.
Originally from Youngstown Ohio, Jeff Rich has spent his entire career representing individuals who have been charged with crimes by the state of Florida.
Jeff received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 2003. While at Michigan, Jeff was a member of the 2000 Big Ten Championship football team, but his football career was cut short due to knee injuries. Thereafter, Jeff attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2005.
While at Florida Coastal, Rich was named to the dean’s list multiple times. In addition, Jeff received numerous academic awards. Rich was also a teaching assistant during his third year of law school.
Jeff has earned a reputation as an attorney who zealously fights for his clients’ rights, and is not afraid to go to trial.
Upon graduating from law school and successfully passing the Florida Bar Exam, Jeff Rich relocated to Sarasota, Florida where he went to work for the 12th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office. He is a former Public Defender who has successfully tried and won numerous cases and motions. While at the Public Defenders office , he attended a trial seminar with hundreds of other criminal defense attorneys and was named best trial advocate.
After serving his tenure with the Public Defender, Jeff was recruited into the private sector by The Law Office of Charles Harris in Fort Myers, Florida, a law firm dedicated strictly to Federal and State Criminal Defense. While at The Law Office of Charles Harris, Jeff handled hundreds of cases ranging from simple traffic tickets to complex first degree felonies.
Jeff is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
